Colchester Kawasaki - Poor service - Unreliable - Go elsewhere!

Colchester Kawasaki

Colchester Kawasaki sold me a Honda Fireblade over the Internet.

After part exchanging my excellent CBR 600F I thought I had a clean bike with low mileage yet I was soon to experience the horrors of Internet sales.

They took my CBR which was immaculate and well serviced and left me with a bike that was unfit for the purpose.

The bike was fine until the onboard computer flagged up a problem with the fuel injection.

I contacted Colchester Kawasaki's sales dept and spoke to Matt who referred me to the Service department. The Service dept suggested that I took the bike into a local Honda dealer.. thats when the fun started!

The service department manager told me to take it into a local Honda Dealer to get the problem diagnosed and I was told Colchester Kawasaki would foot the bill.

I called a several Honda Dealers, they were all overbooked due to it being the spring and having many bikes to service for the new season.

After discussing the problem in detail for free with a Honda technician the problem was clear. It turned out to be a valve in the Fireblades exhaust that had failed and it required a replacement.

I contacted the service dept of Colchester kawasaki and was told to take the bike in to a local garage for repair by the head of the service dept. I was also put throught to the director of Colchester kawasaki who told reassured me this was fine and in his own words 'where are we without trust' they promised to foot the repair bill rather than take the bike back as the distance was too much ( I live near Derby)

So  in the bike went.. the repair was carried out.. I sent Colchester kawasaki the bill with a letter thanking them for their excellent service. Guess what!

No relpy, no cheque, nothing!  Several weeks later I spoke to the director ( Ian) who denied the conversation about my bike ever happened and refused to pay the £450.00 bill.

Shortly after this I was on the A50 and the steering was snatched from my hands when the front bearings went (very unusual for a bike of this age that has been serviced regularly) I could have been killed or seriously injured. This was repaired by a local garage for £300.00 They also replaced all the brake fluid as it had water in it!

On top of this I took the bike to Wales and on my return the bikes ECU got wiped /damaged which  according to my local Honda dealer is likely to be attributed to a poorly fitted Datatool alarm.

They say the repair will cost over £1,000 and is not likely to work as the problem that caused the ECU to fail is still likely to be there.
