Review - Montane Super-Fly eVent Jacket
For fast moving outdoor activities where low weight and high breathability are key, the Super-Fly jacket is a fantastically functional piece of kit for the outdoor enthusiast. Its full waterproofness, superbly high levels of breathability and low weight make this an excellent activity piece. As such, it is ideally suited for the fast moving mountaineer, lightweight backpacker or climber.

I also use the Montane Super-Fly as a winter waterproof for running in....something I never thought possibly comfortable in a full waterproof mountain shell. Highly recommended!

Buy the Montane Super-Fly Jacket here > Four Seasons Outdoors It appears to be discounted at the moment!

The Montane Mens Super Fly Jacket doesnt like to brag, but when waterproof breathable eVent fabric, fully taped seams, and lightweight design come together to make a bombproof shell, its hard not to. Born from a brand worn by mountain rescuers and polar explorers alike, the Super Fly provides maximum durability with minimum bulk. Nylon ripstop withstands the wear and tear from packstraps and harnesses while an ergonomic hood fully protects you from the elements. The Super Fly breathes like a lung to keep you comfortable and dry while its thoughtful layout provides full range of motion as you hike and climb.

This winter jacket is a modern classic with a good pedigree. For autumn 2007 it had a makeover with an improved hood design. The jacket is made from eVent, so it is top-notch for waterproofness and breathability. The fabric is robust too, so it?s ideal for trapping air in the worst of winter weather. The main zip gets a double stormflap, while the chest pocket and pit zips also have single stormflaps to keep the rain at bay. There are four massive pockets on the chest that are ideal for winter action with a rucksack or harness. The new hood is better than last year, with a much better peak and better movement and fit. A classic just got a whole lot better. But some jackets are a little longer while others have longer side vents for cooling off without removing the jacket. The jacket is not available in a women?s fit either, sadly. These are the main drawbacks, so not a lot to complain about.
